Fire Department Officers

The City of Eudora Fire Department employs both career and volunteer officers.  Volunteer officers are expected to contribute time to administrative duties.  The higher the rank, the more time is required.  The administrative duties include supervising shifts, public education, public relations events, inspections, training duties, personnel management, general paperwork, and much more.

Fire Chief Randy Ates is a career professional with over twenty-five years of experience.  His past fire and EMS management includes fire department, ambulance service, and rescue agency management, instructor experience with the Arkansas Fire Academy, and a history of successful volunteer management.  Chief Ates is a firefighter, paramedic and registered nurse.  He holds three associate degrees, one each in fire science, emergency medical services, and nursing.
